Valentine’s month gives the warmth of pinks and reds popping out of windows!

Passion, love, drama, and strength: red pulls these emotions from us. When we think about designing with these colors we have to remember the huge impact they can have in a space. It is easy for these colors to dominate a room and distract from the details. Like most things in life, these colors are beautiful in moderation. I love these pops of red for a room!2

Pink: This color represents compassion, nurturing, and love. Again, I believe it is best used in the accents or details of a space. Look how fun and bright this white sofa becomes with a pop of color.

I love the combination of pink and orange like the pillows above. Here is a recent set of dining chairs we refurbished for a client. How fun are they!

For a quick transformation of your space try some simple pillows on any sofa, bed or chair.

It may be a bit cold to be thinking about our outdoor spaces today, but I just love this red bench nestled amongstĀ  the luscious greenery!

Another way to make a bold statement without overpowering a room is to paint the wall behind open shelving a contrasting color. Check out this lovely pink wall!

Color can be overwhelming to a lot of people, it scares them. Don’t shy away from a color you love. It might just be the way to invigorate life back in to an otherwise dull space.
