This time of year we always get a little nostalgic for projects we’ve finished over the course of the last year. Here’s a look at some of the lesser seen shots from projects completed last year. Consider it a behind the scenes look at projects. Hope you enjoy!

We love this joyful picture of Beth in one of her completed kitchens. It is not often we have time on shoots for fun and games but we are so happy that snapped this shot!

Okay, we’ve shown this one before but we can’t share pictures of this past year without sneaking this gorgeous, serene bathroom into the mix!

We love this inviting living room and the shot of the family’s pet bathing in the sun, checking out the scene outside. What a magical moment!

This master bedroom was truly resplendent in details. We love the daring use of color, mix of pattern, texture, and sheen. The look truly reflects our clients vibrant spirit.

Lastly, we had a ton of fun designing Airbnbs this year. Here is a compilation of living rooms! Here’s to many more and creating a diverse, eclectic, and inclusive environment for all the visitors to our great city!

Featured Vendor: Brabbu

Beyond the bevy of new vendors we found at High Point Market this fall, Instagram has brought us many new favorites as well. At the top of the pack is British brand Brabbu. They are furniture manufactures with a curated eye and attention to detail. We love their color inspiration stories and how they put together look books full of trends, ideas, and design inspiration. Here’s to many more exciting discoveries for our clients in 2018!

Hot Topic: 2018 Pantone Color the Year…..

Ultra Violet!

As fashion forward / trendsetting as we are, nobody in the office could have guessed Ultra Violet would be named the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year. Unsurprisingly, we were not alone. Reading the internet, reactions have been all over the place.  The New York Times thought an appropriate color for the time might be a “soot gray”, Elle Decor said “Its worth noting that purple has a tendency to come into vogue at important turning points in history, and that turbulent times are often, in their turn, crucibles for artistic expression…Could the rise of Ultra Violet in 2018 be a sign of a cultural renaissance to come?”, and Refinery 29 picked up the nod to feminism as Ultra Violet has long been a symbol of feminist movements.

An interesting fact about Ultra Violet we had never heard before was famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright dressed in a purple cape when he wanted (or needed) to be creative. What a fun image that conjures in our minds! Another interesting idea presented by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute, is that purple is a complex color that “takes two shades that are seemingly diametrically opposed — blue and red — and brings them together to create something new.”

We like this idea a lot. New origins, new ideas, new beginnings. What an uplifting, hopeful start to the new year. 2018, here we come!
