While bold statement walls have certainly made a splash over the last decade, it seems that statement ceilings have steadily been making their mark, too.
Metallic accents, exciting splashes of color, and wood paneling are only a few of the stunning ways to bring vivid hues and rich texture to your space, whether you’re sprucing up a bathroom, bedroom, or outdoor area.

Asian-Inspired Details
A collection of Asian art inspired this home renovation and the main bedroom features a ceiling reminiscent of the shoji screens that are also featured in the space. Not only is the ceiling design visually pleasing, but it also balances out the entire room and repeats the pattern used throughout the home.
Mission-Style Beams
With a nod to the serene and beautiful mission-style homes often found on the West Coast, this kitchen’s design features a thick wooden beam and rounded arches. The reclaimed lumber used for this in this home is also a go-to example of a smart, sustainable interior design choice.
Moody Wallpaper
Break the rules and add a dark ceiling to your small bathroom. Dark walls, complementary metallic accents and a dark wallpaper applied to the ceiling in this bathroom speaks to the home’s art deco vibe. The gold in the wallpaper echoes the gold used on the fixtures and the floor tiles and reflects light back into the room. The result is a moody and sultry feel.
Striking Wood Details
Earthy tones and elements take on a whole new design depth when there’s a detailed ceiling to offset the neutrality. This wooden ceiling, featured in a home in Nashville’s Oak Hill neighborhood, truly wows.
Pop of Red
There’s something spectacular about looking up and seeing a vibrant pop of color. This gorgeous red statement beam is the perfect accent, particularly when it ties back to the other red details placed throughout the kitchen’s design.
Tibetan Prayer Flag Inspiration
This client was inspired by Dallas artist Gisela-Heidi Strunck, who incorporates prayer flags into her sculptures. The prayer flags hanging from the skylight honor the practice of placing fabric outdoors that contains prayers, allowing the wind to take them to be heard. They add meaning for the homeowners and color and interest for all their guests.
Look up! Inspiration is everywhere!
