Raised in the Deep South, Beth Haley grew up with an affinity for Southern architecture’s historic design. Over the years, her love for design has grown into a deep appreciation of the synergy between simple functionality and distinctive design. She has a particularly keen appreciation for strong lines, coherent form, rich symmetry, and reserved embellishments.
Throughout her life, Beth has lived and worked in historic neighborhoods, and she has an innate understanding of the charm and quirks of old houses. Marrying time-honored styles with modern accents, Beth is passionate about enlivening residential spaces in a sustainable manner. In 2000, Beth created Beth Haley Design (BHD) as a boutique design firm focused on remodeling and renovating established homes with a sensitive, modern approach. Beth is captivated by older homes and transforming them into workable, nourishing living spaces.
Beth’s appreciation of clean, thoughtful artistry permeates the work of BHD. She has built a team of talented interior designers that can assist in projects from historic renovations to new construction. As a full service design firm, BHD takes on projects both large and small, completing everything from construction documents to space planning and selecting furnishings, window treatments, accessories and art. Working in all neighborhoods throughout Nashville, BHD has built a network of craftsmen and artisans to ensure projects are completed to the precise standards expected BHD. The firm is known for strong, sincere lines and a clear sense of place and draws deliberate designs that bring forth the soulful personality of the home and its family. With an attentive eye to architecture, context, livability, light, color and texture, BHD blends a passion for functionality with style.
Beth earned a B.A. in Speech Communications, along with an Interior Design minor, from David Lipscomb University and an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from Watkins College of Art and Design. She is a licensed Interior Designer, past Chair of the local association of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), past board member of the Nashville USGBC Chapter (United States Green Building Council), past Board Member, past Education Chair, and member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), Green Council and Remodelers’ Council. She volunteers her time with several organizations, special events, and individuals throughout the year. BHD designed the Nanny’s Suite in the Winter, 2006 Junior League Show House and designed and sat on the Show House Committee for the 2003 Watkins College of Art and Design “Chic on a Shoestring” fundraiser.
