High Point Market is the furniture industry’s largest trade show in North America. The semi-annual furniture design show, held in April and October, is open exclusively to the trade. Located in downtown High Point, NC, the show attracts over 75,000 interior designers, architects, and home furnishings buyers each season.

After attending this year’s market, we wanted to share the trends we saw.  Expect cozy interiors, bold, nature-inspired hues, and textured eco-friendly materials.

High Point Market 2022: The Trends Emerging for 2023

Trend #1: Cozy Accent Chairs

Seen throughout High Point Market, fuzzy accent chairs are the next thing you need to add to your furniture collection. Resembling life-size teddy bears, we can confirm they are as cozy as they look. Shearling chairs can also add texture and a relaxed feel to your space.

Trend #2: Curved Furniture

Sculptural shapes and curved lines are re-emerging in the interior design scene. When introduced into a home, they create a blend of contemporary and feminine energy. Curved furniture is ideal for spaces designed for relaxation. Try it in a reading nook or bedroom corner.

Trend #3: Desert-Inspired Shades

Bring the outdoors in with serene desert-inspired shades like terra cotta, taupe, dusky pink, and gray-purple. Research has also proven that these color schemes can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, increase productivity and creativity, and make us happier. Sounds great to us!

Trend #4: Natural Materials

The design movement towards nature has moved beyond just plants and decor and into the furniture itself. Natural materials like rattan, wood, wicker, and stone have taken center stage. Apart from aesthetics, these natural materials can also make your home appear lively and inviting without compromising sustainability!
