Now that the holiday celebrations have died down, and your cheerful decor has been packed up until next year, your home may be feeling a bit drab—and in need of some life and color!

Below are a few easy ways to do just that. Enjoy!

Paint the Walls or Ceiling

Paint is a popular way to add a different pop of color to your home, and if you’re not up for painting all four walls within a space, why not add some color to the ceiling? You can add sophistication to a room with subtle color or drama with a more vibrant hue.

Give Your Bookshelf a Makeover

Transform your living space by giving your bookshelf a makeover. Place your most eye-catching books front and center. Plus, the artful elements also can be used to showcase your interests and hobbies. Then, weave in some sculptural pieces or decor. Bonus points if you use your decor to experiment with different colors and materials.

Add Color with a New Rug

Make your floors more interesting with a fun rug that brings the vibrance. Note that you don’t have to go all in and order a large area rug to cover your space. A smaller-scale piece will work wonders and add a perfect pop. Runner rugs in the kitchen, entryway, and hallway are a great, less-expensive solution. They make each of those spaces feel more like a room for living and less like a routine pass-through.

Revamp Your Wall Decor

Adding new artwork to the walls is a simple way to brighten up your home—and better yet, you can certainly do this without having to purchase anything new. Display photos or notes on the wall using colorful frames or mats. Assorted colored mats give just enough personality to your walls without making them feel cluttered and messy. Even just rearranging the art you currently have hanging in your house is also an excellent approach.

Bring in Fresh Flowers and Plants

Do you adore fresh flowers and plants? You are not alone. They add instant texture and life to a room. And, it has been proven that you simply feel better in a room that has some plants or flowers in it! Stock up on colorful bouquets and arrange them throughout your home, or start with a potted fern on your coffee table. Plants add vitality to your home, especially in the darker, colder winter months when we aren’t spending much time outdoors.

Rethink Your Textiles

Whether you add colorful throw pillows to your couch or place a block print tablecloth on your breakfast table, textiles can instantly elevate any space while adding color and texture. And it is an easy and fairly inexpensive way to add some brightness to your home.
