It’s that time of year — a time of days spent untangling lights and filling your home with holiday cheer. Your space transforms into a festive setting for lavish dinner, family get-togethers, and gatherings of friends. Garland lays across the mantle in the living room. The table is set and ready for guests. Seasonal pillows sit on the couch. Fireplaces warm the home, and stockings are hung with care. The season is magical, and it is exhausting.

“This year, create a space in your home to relax and de-stress during this crazy time of year,” Beth Haley advises. “Create an opportunity to take a moment for yourself to read a good book and drink a cup of coffee. After the holidays have passed and the days are cold and grey, you’ll have a cozy place to hibernate.”

Wondering where to start? Thankfully, Beth put together an inspiration board for creating a cozy corner you will enjoy during (and after) the holidays. Start with an accent chair in Christmas green. Then, layer in warm textures and colors. In place of the expected shade of red, Beth opts for a soft pink that transition into the new year. Of course, you’ll need a spot for your coffee and reading lamp, so don’t forget an accent table.
