Welcome back to the  BHD Faux Sho House Tour!

I was the lucky duck that drew the powder room; they are always some of the most fun rooms to design. Probably because people are more open to being daring and unexpected in such a small space. 🙂 Enjoy the tour!

The Faux-Sho powder room  is all about an earthy-glamour! This room is a great stylistic representation of my personal design aesthetic.  A nature inspired palette and combination of rough and refined finishes is the perfect recipe for any room, but is especially effective in this room as it makes a real statement.  The powder room  should be THE statement room! Bold Jadite green on the walls, brass accents and reclaimed wood all combine to create a fresh, hip vibe for this small space.

From top to bottom this small space is wrapped in color and texture. The ceiling is covered in a  hand crafted  paper which has a randomly patterned linen effect. It has a subtle effect, but overall  it enhances the powder room with a soft glow from it’s neutral metallic shades.

Jadite from Sherwin Williams is seriously green and just the perfect shade to ground the glam gold accents. Wall Paint: Sherwin Williams 6459 Jadite – Eggshell

A glossy trim out is the perfect finishing element for the walls. In a color that is just  a few shades darker that the walls, the contrast is low and keeps the room feeling modern. Trim Paint: Sherwin Williams 6460 Kale green – Semi Gloss

New Ravenna Mosaics  was a great resource for our powder room. A graphic mosaic on the floor amps-up the glam factor in a starburst pattern. The gradient stone and marble on the vanity backsplash creates a great effect that takes your eye upward toward the hexagonal mirror.

I love this mirror designed by Thomas Bina, with a rough wood frame and leather strapping. It is an interesting shape that works well with everything in the room while also being a definite focal point.

How gorgeous is this little stool?! Made of natural teak root, it brings an organic and sculptural element with its beautiful variety and movement.

For the vanity, a custom, reclaimed wood cabinet is attractive as well as practical with its ample storage and  durable finish.

Designer Laura Kirar was imagining a spider web dream-catcher when she designed this antique brass ceiling pendant. The fixture is a simple design that serves its purpose of lighting up the room while still being beautiful.

The Harper sconces from Hudson Valley Lighting are a great contrast to the reclaimed natural wood of the mirror that they flank. Their aged brass base and smooth opal  glass are just the touch of glamor that this space needs.

A lovely print called “Moon Moths” by Becca Stadtlander and an equestrian ink sketch from Etsy are the perfect finishing touches to this Faux-Sho House Powder Room.
